Indian Creative Talent (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use indiancreativetalent.com (the “Website”), why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have. We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.
1. Data we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: email address (used for OTP login), name, mobile number, city and state, and optionally date of birth, profile photo and a short bio.
- Registration details: participant's name, age, school or institution, city and state, contact phone and email, and — for participants under 18 — the parent/guardian's name.
- Uploaded entries: the photos, videos or documents of your artwork, along with the title and description you provide.
- Prize/KYC details (winners only): bank account or UPI details and, where required by tax law, PAN, collected only to pay prizes.
- Communications: messages you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type and device information, and basic server logs, used for security, fraud prevention and rate-limiting.
Payment data
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card number, UPI PIN, net banking credentials and similar payment details are entered on Razorpay's secure interface and are never stored on our servers. We only receive a payment reference, the amount, payment status and payment method type from Razorpay. Razorpay's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.
2. Why we use your data
- To create and manage your account and log you in securely via OTP.
- To register participants, process payments and send confirmations and receipts.
- To receive, store and judge competition entries.
- To publish results, and — as described in our Terms — display winning and featured entries with the participant's name, school and city/state.
- To issue and allow verification of certificates.
- To pay prizes and meet tax and legal obligations (such as TDS).
- To send service messages (registration, deadlines, results) and, if you subscribe, newsletters about new competitions. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To keep the Website secure and prevent fraud and misuse.
We process your data on the basis of your consent (given when you register or subscribe) and for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act, such as complying with the law. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Children's data
Many of our participants are children. We process personal data of children (persons under 18) only with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, who registers the child or approves the registration. We collect only the information needed to run the competition. We do not use children's data for targeted advertising or behavioural monitoring. Publicly displayed information about a child is limited to their name, age group, school and city/state alongside results or featured entries. A parent/guardian may request removal of a child's entry from our gallery, or deletion of the child's data, at any time.
4. Who we share data with
We share personal data only as needed to operate the service:
- Razorpay — to process payments and refunds.
- Hosting, email and SMS providers — to host the Website, send OTPs and service emails/messages.
- Judges — who see entries (and may see the participant's age group) to evaluate them.
- Banks / payment channels — to transfer prize money to winners.
- Government or legal authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and users' safety.
Our service providers are required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
5. Cookies
We use only an essential session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms against misuse (CSRF protection). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If you block cookies, you may not be able to log in or register.
6. How long we keep data
- Account and registration data are kept while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide certificates and results verification.
- Payment and tax-related records are retained for the period required by Indian law (generally up to 8 years).
- Uploaded entries of non-winners may be deleted after a reasonable period following results; winning and featured entries may be retained to maintain published results and our Hall of Fame, unless you ask us to remove them.
- When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Security
We use reasonable security safeguards, including HTTPS encryption, OTP-based login, access controls, and restricted access to personal data. No online service can be 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information. In the unlikely event of a personal data breach, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you (or a parent/guardian for a child) have the right to:
- Access — obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
- Correction and updating — correct inaccurate or incomplete data (you can update most profile details yourself in your dashboard).
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent — at any time; this will not affect processing already done, but we may not be able to continue providing the service.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below).
- Nominate — nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
To exercise any right, email us at indiancreativetalent@gmail.com from your registered email address. We will respond within the time required by law (usually within 30 days). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email.
